A small group of sustainability champions are forming a Sustainability Professionals Network – a community for established and budding sustainability professionals with the vision to promote and advocate for the sustainability agenda among the country’s industry and public leaders, help drive collaboration in implementing practical and sustainable initiatives towards sustainable development, and promote the advancement of the sustainability profession.

Prof. Colin Hubo

Executive Director at the University of Asia and the Pacific-Center for Social Responsibility

Colin is considered as the Philippine leading expert in sustainability reporting, CSR impact assessment & evaluation and business sustainability for being the adviser/writer of sustainability reports and sustainability road map of top conglomerates.He institutionalized business sustainability in the curriculum of UA&P and started an applied sustainability continuing program (ASMAP) to train business executives about sustainability. Colin was elected twice to the stakeholder council of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). He is a certified practitioner of SA8000, GRI Standards, Integrated Reporting Framework and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

Dr. Assunta Cuyegkeng

Multi-awarded Professor at the School of Science and Engineering and the Leadership and Strategy Department, Ateneo de Manila

Dr. Cuyegkeng is a full time Chemistry professor at the Department of Chemistry, School of Science and Engineering, and full-time at the Leadership and Strategy Department, Ateneo de Manila. She is a multi-awarded teacher and researcher, with awards including the Meritorious Service Award, DOST-PCASTRD, 1997; Metrobank Search for Outstanding Teachers, 1997; Dr. Juan Salcedo Jr., Science Education Award, 1997; ASPAC Outstanding Junior Teacher, 1993. She also finished her M.S. Chemistry and holds the degree Dr.rer.nat. (summa cum laude), which is equivalent to Ph.D., from Universität Regensburg in Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany.

Bro. Armin Luistro, FSC

La Sallian Brother, served as Secretary of the Department of Education, Republic of the Philippines

Brother Armin Luistro revolutionized the Philippine public education system as the primary proponent and author of the K-12 system. Under his leadership, he also institutionalized the partnership of private and public sectors in elevating the standards of public education and making quality education more equitable and accessible to all – as a matter of human rights. He also worked in establishing the De La Salle Philippines system and was appointed as DLSP President and CEO in 2015. Brother Armin completed his Master of Arts degree in Religious Education and Master’s in Religious Education and Values Formation from De La Salle University. He was confered a doctorate degree in Educational Management from the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod. He was made Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris cuasa, by La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. He currently serves on the board and in some, co-founders of non-profit organizations, professional networks and consortiums for social good, sustainability and sustainable development to help advance partnerships, policy and professionalism in our pursuit to a more sustainable future.

Bonar engages with the private sector to integrate Sustainability into their Businesses. He represents Philippine Businesses to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and brings back a wealth of knowledge, best practices, and sustainability tools and adapts them into the local needs.

Sustainability for Financial Services Industry

Shawntel is passionate about sustainability, poverty alleviation, as well as leadership and strategy. She is interested in the means by which innovation, leadership, and systems thinking can catalyze both organizations and nations’ transitions into the green economy and into achieving positive economic, social, and environmental outcomesShe graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management of Applied Chemistry in 2017 and a Masters in Sustainability Management in 2019. While at the university, she was the co-captain of the Ateneo varsity badminton team, was a co-founder of several social enterprises and initiatives, and a researcher focused on sustainability and social entrepreneurship. Through her work, she was awarded as a Global Changemaker by the Global Changemakers Association, as 1 of 25 Emerging Global Leaders worldwide by the Dalai Lama Fellowship, as a promising changemaker against covid-19 by Young Sustainable Impact (YSI) Global, and as a Sustainable Cities Philippine Ambassador by MakeSense.
